Citizen's Fire Academy

The Citizen's Fire Academy is a six-week course that meets once per week and is designed to introduce residents to the daily operations of Arvada Fire. Weekly topics at the academy include hazardous materials, water and ice rescue, emergency medical services, fire prevention, wildland fire, and more.

After a hiatus during the pandemic, the citizen's academy is returning in 2023! Classes are held on every Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, March 22. The academy ends with a fun, hands-on day of activities at our Training Center on Saturday, April 29 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Adults 18 and older are invited to register online for the academy. There is a $10 fee to register. Space is limited.

The academy is an exciting, interactive program that offers an authentic look into the operations of the fire service. After attending, participants are equipped with the knowledge they need to improve fire preparedness and resiliency on their own properties and in their communities.
