Citizen's Fire Academy

The Citizen's Fire Academy is a six-week course that meets once per week and is designed to introduce residents to the daily operations of Arvada Fire. The academy combines presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to provide a fuller understanding of the operations of the fire service and how to practice fire safety.

Academy topics include EMS, wildland, hazmat, technical rescue, hose operations, water and ice rescues, fire prevention, and fitness. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. The academy is typically held in early summer.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Arvada Fire was unable to host the Citizen's Fire Academy in 2020 and 2021. We look forward to offering this wonderful program soon when it is safe to do so.
