We will be accepting applications until Aug. 31. A Candidate Physical Ability Test (PAT) will be held by invitation only while an Assessment Center and Chiefs Oral Board Interviews will be held in October. Fire Academy will begin in February 2023. Academy is a 40-hour per week schedule for approximately 18 weeks. After academy, employees will be assigned to a 48/96 schedule for Field Instruction.
The firefighter recruit performs firefighting and emergency medical services at the BLS and/or ALS level in accordance with our rules, policies, and pre-hospital medical protocols. Requirements include:
- High school diploma or GED
- EMT or Paramedic certified
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Passing score on FireTeam test or Colorado FIREFighter Testing Consortium test
- Current Health Care Provider CPR (and ACLS and PALS for Paramedics)
Firefighter Paramedic 2022 Salary Tiers start at $72,743 and raises to $101,084 through year four, while Firefighter EMTs start at $66,136 and raises to $94,471 through year full. For a full list of job requirements, duties, and benefits, visit our recruitment webpage.
