Arvada Fire’s annual Safety Day, a family-friendly event dedicated to educating community members of all ages about fire and life safety, returns on Saturday, Oct. 1. The free gathering with first responders and safety vendors will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arvada Fire Training Center.
Safety Day offers opportunities for the whole family to participate in engaging activities, see live demonstrations and take part in fun giveaways. Some of the demonstrations this year will include a live burn demonstration provided by the National Fire Sprinkler Association, a helicopter landing from Flight for Life and a seatbelt simulator ride provided by St. Anthony’s Hospital and the Colorado State Patrol.
In addition, this year’s event will feature up-close tours of safety vehicles such as Arvada Fire trucks and ambulances, the new Incident Response Command Vehicle from JeffCom 911, and a new Wildland Brush Truck from Jefferson County Open Space for families to explore.
Families can get involved in activities such as stuffed animal first aid, obstacle courses, and more. Along with activities, families can participate in several educational programs on safety topics such as pet safety, disaster preparedness, and safe cooking demonstrations.
The event will also feature a variety of interactive booths from local vendors and community organizations for guests to enjoy.
